WINNER OF PRESTIGIOUS BRITISH CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY AWARD!

Browne has won the Upgrade & Renewal Project of the Year at the 2022 British Construction Industry Awards.

Browne was crowned winner of the 2022 British Construction Industry Awards for Upgrade & Renewal Project of the Year. The awards are jointly organised by New Civil Engineer and the Institution of Civil Engineers and were held in front of the industry crowd on 12 October at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.

After face-to-face review by a panel of expert judges, Browne won in recognition for the Thames Water Mains Renewal programme Tranche 0.  This tranche of work contained approximately 42km of the Thames Water network across dense urban areas of Greater London and to rural expanses of Thames Valley. From the beginning we committed to being part of a one-team, one-customer partnership where optimised joint approaches would capture benefits from and start.

Managing Director, Paul McMahon commented ‘I am delighted that our Thames Water Browne project team has been recognised with the Upgrade & Renewal Project of the Year at the 2022 British Construction Industry Awards. Our joint team brought both physical and digital innovation to collaboration, project management, customer service, delivery, efficiency, and carbon reduction, on this important scheme. Our agile approach ensured all hurdles were overcome and disruption was minimised for timely delivery of the exceptional customer outcomes. Well Done Team!’

The British Construction Industry Awards, celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2022, brought together more than 1,000 of the UK’s leading clients, consultants and contractors for a glittering evening of celebration, recognition and networking.

Claire Smith, editor of New Civil Engineer, commented:

“I have the unique opportunity to see every shortlisted entry and the standard was extremely high this year.

During the judging process I heard the terms exemplar, outstanding and industry leading used and I would like to congratulate every one of our winners this year.

However, BCIA is not just about recognising and celebrating the achievements of the construction industry. It’s about recognising and celebrating what those achievements deliver for society – the better outcomes this sector creates. The industry is making a difference to society, while also acting on cutting carbon and delivering climate resilience, and a look at our winners this year provides the wider sector with a masterclass on what excellent looks like in 2022.”
