Mayor of London 2022 Collaboration Award

We’re delighted that our continuous, collaborative efforts on behalf of Thames Water on it’s mains renewal programme in London have been recognised with an award from the GLA.  Lisa Blundell, our Head of Planning, received the Mayor of London 2022 Contractors Collaboration Award in early December.

This award recognises the great work done on behalf of our client, Thames Water and their customers, facilitating other contractors’ operational activities to minimise the overall disruption to customers.

During the last 18 months, in the mains replacement programme on Thames Water’s Area-Wide Geographic Framework, we have co-ordinated 35 collaborations across 10 London Boroughs working alongside the GLA.  The collaborations varied in scale from working with a local building contractor through to fully planned and co-branded 6-month projects with multiple utility companies.  In total there have been over 380 days of disruption saved from the 35 working collaborations.

One of the most successful collaborations took place on Gipsy Hill in South-East London.  This was a major collaborative effort with SGN for a 6-week duration working under a full road closure.  The communication included co-branded letters and key messaging on site fencing highlighting the benefit of the 42 days of disruption saved to residents, businesses and commuters.

This is a fantastic achievement for BROWNE to receive this recognition from such an important stakeholder for Thames Water.  This award comes through hard work and relies on continuous and relentless collaboration to build great relationships with the GLA and all the other stakeholders we work with every day
