Day 1 - 13th July – Career Fair Event
Participated in The Big Bang Chase Career Fair as STEM ambassadors.
The aim and objectives were to introduce Years 8, 9 and 10 pupils (ages 12 – 15) to the range of STEM professions within our industry. In addition, to gaining an understanding of what Browne Construction does as a business.
Advised on education and career pathway options (e.g. apprenticeships) and the decision on what subjects to study for GCSE and A-levels.
We spoke to over 550+ enthusiastic pupils who were keen to understand the relevance and importance of STEM related subjects as part of their career choices. Many of the pupils now have a clearer understanding of their options and can make more informed choices about their future, with the continuous support from such organisations as Browne Construction.
Day 2 – 14th July – STEM Fair Event
Participated in The Big Bang Chase STEM Fair as STEM ambassadors.
Over 200 Year 5 pupils from 17 schools in the Borough of Enfield presented their STEM projects based on the subject of “Growth” to the STEM ambassadors. A wide array of projects included: The impact of yeast in the baking process, variables impacting plant growth and tracking the growth of partridge chicks
