Last Friday, our team of 16 dedicated employees embarked on a challenging sponsored walk as part of National Walking Month to raise money for our chosen charity of the year, Hands On Hand Out. The walk began at our Head Office in Enfield and culminated at the bustling King's Cross Station, covering a distance of 16 miles.
Hands On Hand Out is a local charity that focuses on helping the homeless population through its commendable outreach initiatives. Every Sunday, the charity organises outreach sessions in King’s Cross where volunteers provide essential items, such as food, clothing, and toiletries, to those experiencing homelessness in our community. Their commitment to improving the lives of the less fortunate has made them a lifeline for many of those in need.
Motivated by our shared belief in making a positive impact on our local community, Browne selected Hands On Hand Out as our designated charity for the year. To raise funds and contribute to their cause, we organised a sponsored walk, which was a resounding success.
With our trainers laced up and sunscreen at the ready, we set off from Head Office. The 16-mile trek demanded both physical and mental resilience from all our people. Some managed to complete the walk in a commendable five hours, while others took a little longer to conquer the challenge. However, what mattered most was our collective determination to reach our destination and make a difference.
Throughout the journey, we encountered a mix of emotions—fatigue, excitement, and a growing sense of accomplishment. The camaraderie and support across the team kept our spirits high, ensuring nobody was left behind.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our colleagues, friends, and supporters, our efforts have raised over £2,000. This will undoubtedly provide much-needed resources to Hands On Hand Out, allowing them to continue their important charity work.
