Canal & River Trust Volunteer Day

A team of 7 willing volunteers from J Browne donned their life-jackets and spent the day in a canoe, removing litter from the River Lea, close to our head office in Enfield.  This is part of an ongoing initiative where we have adopted a section of the waterway working with our local community environment partners, the Canal & River Trust.

Over the course of the day, the team collected over 20 bags of rubbish, which included, hundreds of plastic bottles, tins of paint, an uneaten packed lunch and a space hopper!

It was great to get out on the water.  We were all surprised by the amount of rubbish that we managed to collect.  We’ll be getting more of our teams involved to help clean up our rivers over the coming months.
— Rob Gauldie, J Browne's Head of PMO

Finally, a big Thankyou to Will, the team leader from the Canal & River Trust, who provided the canoes and oversaw the activities on the day.
