Financial Controller for Enisca

Hours of work: Mon – Thurs 9am to 5pm and Friday – 9am – 3.00 pm.in office. Potential of hybrid working 1-2 days a week after 6 months

Key Competencies

  •  A Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 2/3 years post qualification experience within industry

  • Qualified from practice background

  • Experience working with Exchequer accounting software would be preferred 

  • Desire to work within a fast-paced commercial environment.

  • Strong commercial and business acumen.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, together with a proactive and positive approach.

  • Ability to support non-financial managers with appropriate financial information.

  • Able to take ownership and responsibility for own work with an eagerness to take on further responsibility.

  • Capable of anticipating and resolving problems, together with identifying solutions alongside other key management as and when required

  • A driving licence

  • Experience in the manufacturing or engineering industry would be preferred (CIS, VAT DRC, IR35)

  • High level of competence with information technology, particularly Microsoft products and accounting systems

  • Meticulous, organised and able to prioritise workloads during busy periods

  • Staff management skills, able to work well with others and liaise with colleagues in different locations/sites

Role Purpose

The Financial Controller role is required to oversee the management accounting and payroll functions while overseeing the performance of a small team, reporting overall to the FD. As the company continues to grow, the Financial Controller will be required to support the structural growth of the team and company.  The FC will work collaboratively to develop the skills and knowledge of the team and oversee all aspects of operational & commercial finance.

Role Summary

  • Preparation of monthly CV1 reports, job and cost reports for PMs.

  • Ensuring timely delivery of Group Management Information.

  • Preparing daily cash reports and weekly cashflow forecasts.

  • Debtor control and management.

  • Creditor control and management of payments including subcontractors.

  • Assisting the purchase ledger team when required and assuming responsibility for the completeness and accuracy of the purchase ledger.

  • Preparation of intercompany recharges.

  • Manage and co-ordinate the duties and performance of the Accounting team, this includes training and cross training to ensure all duties are competently performed.

  • Working collaboratively with team members to share duties and responsibilities; ensure that the Accounts team and function perform efficiently and effectively to cover any period of absence, including holidays or any other period of leave.

  • Ensure all company policies, procedures and best practices are applied in the efficient running of the department.

  • Actioning any points identified during Internal Audit to ensure best practice and compliance with Group rules.

  • Involvement in the management of company bank accounts and payment approvals/procedures.

  • Liaising with auditors and other external advisers, suppliers, creditors and contractors.

  • Liaison with PM’s/QS to monitoring expenditure against budget on projects/production facilities.

  • Any other duties as may be required of the postholder.
