We had a great response to Movember this year with 13 Company staff discarding their cutthroat razors for the month of November and sprouting some impressive moustaches all to raise awareness and funds for Men’s Health.
Handlebars, Magnum PI’s and Truckers were just a few of the varieties that graced the upper lips of the guys. Our SHEQ department led by Jon Ireland went all in with Ged, Ian and Alan getting involved in a fantastic team effort. Head of Ops Barry Jones (handlebar) and Managing Director Paul McMahon looked like they had stepped of the set of a YMCA video and it felt like they might break into dance at any moment. Paul Parker and Manoj Halai on our pumping stations programme looked properly menacing whilst Quantity Surveyors Anil and Ade just made it look easy. Plant and Transport Manager Terry Beeston was reluctant to shave his off such was his love of his mo’ and Plant Co Ordinator Lee’s top lip was a surprising shade of red! Robert Madeley’s was an impressive effort and finally Nick O’Donovan, supervisor at Affinity Water metering was our top fund raiser and by the end of the month looked like a young Des Lynham at the start of his rise to the top of football commentary.
A big thanks to all the team who raised over £1500 which was match by the Company, so the effort resulted in £3,000 being raised for Men’s Health charities. Go Mo’ Bros!
