J Browne has been working for Thames Tideway Tunnel since 2013 and we have delivered a number of high profile and challenging projects for them including archaeological and field investigation works across the proposed tunnel route. The core team that has delivered this work has been Site Manager, Bob Read, Contract Manager, Duncan Groombridge, father and son team, Pat and James Tees, Electrician Martin Daly and Commercial Manager Mish Hoque.
The team recently finished their Thames Tideway Tunnel induction EPIC 2 project induction day with a boat trip on the River Thames on Friday 7th October. Director Jeremy Browne also joined the team as he heard there was a free lunch! The day involved a trip on the River Thames following the route of the tunnel from London Bridge to Putney and back to Greenwich. The presentation really showed the enormous environmental and water quality improvements that the new tunnel will give to London, its residents and visitors. Currently over 27 combined sewer outflows discharge many million tonnes of raw sewage about 50 times every year into the River Thames. The project will dramatically improve sewer capacity and the water quality of the tidal River Thames and we are proud to have been involved from the very start of the contract.

The day was a great success both as an induction and a team building experience and explained the size of the task ahead in the next 5 years to deliver this £4 Billion project. The group had dinner at London Bridge to celebrate the past 3 years and to remember what has been an exceptional experience for the Company and the team.
